1. Registration to the Web Site and entry into any Competition conducted on the Web Site is only open to participants who are at least 18 years old and who have paid the subscribed fee ("Participants").
2. In these Terms & Conditions, unless the contrary intention appears, the following words and phrases have the meanings set out opposite them:
"The Points" Points are awarded for Correct Predictions according to the decimal odds set by http://oddschecker.com at Wednesday midday UK time (but limited to a maximum allowable points of 5.0) for a Participant's selected football
team to win or for a drawn match for matches in the following football competitions ("the Relevant Contests":
English Premier League
English Championship (including end of season play offs)
English League One (including end of season play offs)
English League Two (including end of season play offs)
English FA Cup 1st Round through to and including the Semi-Finals
English League Cup Final
Scottish Premier League (including end of season play offs)
Scottish Championship (including end of season play offs)
Scottish Cup 4th Round through to and including the Semi-Finals
Scottish League Cup Semi Final and Final
"a Pick" is a prediction by a Participant of the outcome of a football match and is simply whether a particular team will win, whether the opposing team will win or whether the match will be drawn
"the Picks" is the Team Pick and the Wild Pick together
"The Team Pick" is prediction by a Participant of the Result of a match involving their Season Team
"Season Team" is a professional football team that takes part in one or more of the Relevant Contests and is selected
by a Participant as the team for which they will make their Team Pick. The "Season Team" cannot be changed during a
"The Wild Pick" is the prediction by a Participant of a Result for one match from all the available fixtures in the
Relevant Contests. A Participant may select the same team every week but cannot choose the same match as one
involving their "Season Team".
"Result" means the fact of a qualifying match in a Relevant Contest ending with a winning team (and the identity of that winning team) or the ending a draw. For the purpose of the draw in a Cup game, the result after full time is
completed (and not the result after extra time or penalties) shall be the Result.
"Correct Prediction" is the selection of the right Result and results published on bbc.co.uk will determine whether a Pick is a "Correct Prediction".
"Abandonment" - if a game is abandoned part way through, for the purpose of the Competition, the score at the time of
the abandonment will determine the Result of that game.
"Postponement" - if a game is postponed without being started, for the purpose of the Competition, the re-arranged
fixture will keep the original assigned odds and the original Pick. Any Points accumulated will count towards the
Competition at the time of the original fixture. If the result of a postponed game can impact on prizes, the
relevant competition will not be decided until the outcome of the re-arranged game is known.
"Season of Fixtures" is the length of the Competition which runs from the first weekend of the English Premier League
to the last weekend of the English Premier League. Any games before or after these start and finish date weekends
are excluded from the Season of Fixtures.
"The Fixtures" for the purposes of the Competition a Fixture is a game which is played in full between 10:00 GMT on a
Saturday and 22:59 GMT on the following Monday. Games played from Tuesday through to Friday are not considered.
Promoter reserves the right to select the relevant fixture for the round if teams play both the Saturday and the Monday
over a Christmas or Easter period
Results from midweek re-arranged games from original weekend postponements do count.
"The Rounds of Fixtures" is a qualifying batch of Fixtures for the purposes of the Competition. A round of fixtures
will only take place if the weekend English Premier League competition is on or the English FA Cup is on, i.e. there
is no weekend round of fixtures during the weekend international breaks and the competition takes a break until the
English Premier League or English FA Cup resumes the following weekend.
"Default Selection" a default selection chosen by a Participant for their Team Pick which shall be used as their Team
Pick if they forget to enter a Team Pick for one of the Rounds of Fixtures. The Promoter will randomly select a
default selection a Participant's Wild Pick if they forget to enter a Wild Pick for one of the Rounds of
The "Top 5 Selection" calculated by the algorithm will be 5 unique matches and this selection will be sent to Participants on or before
midday UK time of the Saturday fixtures.
"Score" means an aggregate number of Points held by a Participant in relation to a Competition;
"Web Site" means the Web Site of the Promoter at http://www.pickstars.co.uk accessible on the Internet through the
World Wide Web.
3. Information on how to enter as posted on the Web Site forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
Entries and Participants not complying with these Terms & Conditions are ineligible and the Promoter reserves its
absolute right to disqualify any Participant from a Competition if they breach any of these Terms & Conditions.
6. The Promoter reserves the right not to accept registration for any Participant if the registration contains
anything slanderous, defamatory or is otherwise unacceptable in any way, as determined by the Promoter in its
18 Information about Participants is used by the Promoter to assess and process registration in the Promotion. If an
applicant does not provide the required information, the Promoter cannot process the registration. All entries
become the property of the Promoter and will be entered into a database. Information emanating from the
Participant's participation in the Promotion is used by the Promoter and its agencies associated with this Promotion
for the determination of winners and distribution of prizes, if any, awarded to a Participant. Participants consent
to publishing their name and Score in the results section of the Web Site and as otherwise set out in these Terms
and Conditions. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any loss of reputation, status or otherwise in
connection with a Participant's tipping selections and consequential results. It is a condition of entry that
Participants consent to these uses and disclosures of their information. Information about Participants may also be
used by the Promoter, its agents, contractors and related companies, for the purposes of carrying out marketing,
planning, product development and direct mail, telemarketing and promotional campaigns unless a Participant
otherwise withdraws their consent to the use of their information in this manner.
19 The personal information supplied by Participants will be used by the Promoter in accordance with its Privacy
Competition is an agreement to be bound by that policy. All entrants may have their details removed from the
Promoter's database by contacting the Promoter.
20 Notwithstanding the Promoter's rights to not accept or to subsequently disqualify a Participant, the Promoter will
not be liable for any legal action arising out of any Participant's name or postings on the Web Site being
slanderous, defamatory or unsightly to the public at large, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by
21 By participating in the Promotion, the Participant agrees to indemnify the Promoter, its agents, contractors and
related companies from any legal action, claim or dispute arising in relation thereto.
22 In the event there is a dispute concerning the conduct of the Promotion, the decision of the Promoter is final and
no correspondence will be entered into.
23 The Promoter shall not be liable for any manufacturer defects in prizes or for any loss, damage whatsoever which
is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) as a result of taking a
prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The use of any automated entry software or any
other mechanical or electronic means that permits any person to enter the Competition repeatedly is prohibited and
all Participants or entries submitted reasonable suspected of originating from a Participant engaging in such
practices will be terminated at the discretion of the Promoter.
24 By entering this Competition all entrants:
a) assign to the Promoter all rights including present and future copyright in their entry and the publicity
materials in all media (including, without limitation, the internet) and whether in existence now or created in the
b) agree not to assert any moral rights in respect of their entry and the publicity materials (wherever and whenever
such rights are recognised) against the Promoter, its assigns licensees and successors in title;
c) undertake to the Promoter that their entry is not in breach of any third party intellectual property rights.
25 A failure by the Promoter to enforce any one of these terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise
to any claim or right of action by any other person or Participant.
26 The Participant agrees to receive one email per week from pickstars.co.uk that contains an advertisement from a
sponsor of pickstars.co.uk. The Participant can elect to be excluded from said emails however some Web Site features
may be made unavailable.
27 The Promoter reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on
the Web Site.
28 A Participant can cancel their account at any time, but a refund will only be returned if they cancel within 14
days from the date of joining.
29 A Participant can at any time contact the Promoter and make a complaint. The Promoter will respond in a timely
manner and try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Pickstars is committed to compliance with regulation to prevent gambling from being a source
of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder, or being used to support crime.
Actions. Suspicious activity reports will be made to the Serious Organised Crime Agency in respect of
the prevention and detection of money laundering, counter terrorism financing and our
obligations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Pickstars only deal with online payments so there is full transparency of all funds.

1. Information on how to enter form part of these conditions. Entry into this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry.
